Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the oldest and most traditional style of Yoga. The classes include asana (postures) pranayama (breathing technique) and meditation/relaxation. The class is slower paced than a flow class and If you are new to your yoga journey it’s a good place to start. In a Hatha class you can work as gentle or hard as you wish making it a great class for beginners and more advanced yogis.
Rocket Yoga
Rocket Yoga will you get you there faster! It is a fun and energising practice, a modern version of Ashtanga. It was created in San Francisco by Larry Schultz in the 1980’s and practised by the band Grateful Dead. It is a dynamic flow consisting of standing poses, seated poses, arm balances, inversions twist & bends. If you are aiming for fun, challenging postures then Rocket is for you!
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga Yoga is a set sequence of movement created by K. pattabhi Jois in the 20th century it is a very physical and dynamic practice that will challenge both mind & body. The primary and secondary series of Ashtanga focuses on sun salutations A & B, standing postures, seated postures, twist and bends. Suitable for people with some yoga experience or adventurous beginners.
Yin & Restorative Yoga
Yin Yoga focuses on releasing the connective tissue between the muscles. Yin is slow paced, floor based and postures can be held between 3 -7 minutes working deep into your flexibility. Restorative Yoga or sleeping yoga works with your nervous system, uses props and blankets to allow you to completely relax and rest. Yin and Restorative Yoga are incorporated at the beginning or end of our classes, and during workshops and retreats.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is a flow class moving from one position to another using breath and fluidity, no rules no right or wrong just whatever your body feels. Vinyasa classes focus on strength, flexibility and breath always finishing with relaxation. Classes are suitable for everyone.
Ante & Post Natal
We are qualified and experienced in teaching women throughout their pregnancy journey and into the first year of motherhood. Experienced practitioners of Yoga & Pilates are welcome to join our regular classes where some movements will be modified to suit pre & post natal clients. I offer courses ‘Bump Class’ & ‘Mama Movement’ which are our pre or post natal courses.
